In the 1970s, Belgian fashion designer Diane von Fürstenberg became a household name when she introduced the world to her iconic wrap dress. Her timeless designs have endured for more than 50 years, and have been worn by everyone from Paris Hilton and Sarah Jessica Parker to Michelle Obama and Kate Middleton. In her 2015 biography "The Woman I Wanted to Be,” the fiercely ambitious designer explained her unique viewpoint on beauty. “Personality, not traditional beauty, is always what I’ve looked for in my models,” she wrote.
